Snow
It’s hard to believe this is the March newsletter, and the Fire Department safety tip is related to SNOW! As winter seems to be planning to hang around, we want to remind you to keep your outside furnace exhaust and street number signs clear of snow. Carbon monoxide is a serious concern when snow is blocking the exhaust.
Many residents have street number signs at the end of driveways, which become covered with plowed or fallen snow. The Fire and Rescue responders will have great difficulty locating homes when the house numbers are blocked.
Truro Fire Rescue thanks our DPW
On the topic of snow removal, Truro Fire Rescue thanks our DPW for clearing roads during storms so we can get to emergencies. Their assistance is greatly appreciated.
Open Burning
Open burning season is in full swing. If you haven‘t already applied for the required burn permit, come pick up one at the Public Safety Facility. Also, the clocks “spring ahead” on March 9th so remember to check your smoke and carbon monoxide batteries.
