Over the past several months Town staff, under the leadership of Acting Town Administrator Charleen Greenhalgh, has done a tremendous job producing an FY2015 Town Budget and holding a successful and productive Annual Town Meeting. It has been a challenging few months; and over the past several weeks the Board felt we needed to provide Charleen and all the Town staff with some additional support so that we can continue to move forward on a number of key initiatives.

I am delighted to announce that Bob Lawton has agreed to join Charleen and serve as Co-Acting Town Administrator while we continue to search for a new Town Administrator. We are extremely fortunate to have secured the services of this seasoned professional who served as Town Administrator in Yarmouth for 32 years. Most recently, Bob served as Interim Town Administrator in Harwich and is no stranger to Truro, having served on our Town Administrator Search Committee in 2011.

Bob will be in Truro on Tuesday and Wednesday each week. He and Charleen know one another well and will work together as equal colleagues. Bob will staff the Board of Selectmen's meetings and coordinate the development of our meeting agendas. Additionally, he will work with the Board on our FY2015 Goals and Objectives and with completing and helping to implement the Wage and Classification Study.

I want to express the Board of Selectmen’s sincere thanks to all the Town’s employees for their hard work and dedication to the Town, particularly over the past few months following Rex's death. We very much appreciate the ways in which they have stepped up and supported Charleen as she has been doing two very full-time jobs at once. With Bob's support, it is our hope that the workload will be lightened a bit and that we can continue to serve the residents and visitors to the Town.

Sincerely,

Jay Coburn
