Wed., May 1, 2:00 p.m. -3:30 p.m.
Birding in the Library’s Backyard –Mass. Audubon representatives will point the way.  Do you enjoy wildlife and nature, but wouldn’t consider yourself a birder?  In this one-hour workshop, a Mass. Audubon naturalist will introduce the outdoor-loving families to the basics of bird watching.  Learn how to adjust your binoculars, use your field guide, and identify common Cape Cod birds as we step outside. Binoculars and field guides will be available.
This program is supported by a grant from the Truro Cultural Council.

Friends of the Library Monthly Program
“Making Compost Happen” by Cape Cod Cooperative Extension Program horticulturalist Russell Norton.  The Coffee and conversation begin at 9:30 a.m.  The meeting begins at 10:00 a.m.

Video Workshop with Melissa Yeaw
Create film for production—or just improve your family films.
Filmmaker Melissa Yeaw presents the components of film such as composition, editorial decisions, etc.  Between the two workshop dates, a camera will be made available for attendees.

Film showing of Queen of the Sun:  What the bees are telling us followed by a Q&A with honeybee expert and sustainable horticulturalist Laura Kelley. 
This is the second event in the film series Films for our Future:  A Film & Discussion Series on Sustainability.  Co-sponsored by Sustainable CAPE:  Center for Agricultural Preservation & Education.  The next film, to be shown on June 11, is The Dark Side of Chocolate, followed by a Q & A with organic chefs Katie Reed and Josiah Mayo.

Truro Tots Playgroup This free activity is provided for children aged Birth – 3 Years and their parents or caregivers.  Toys, stories, songs, crafts, and snacks are provided.  This activity is funded by the Town of Truro.

Saturdays, May 11 & 25, 9:30 – 11:00 a.m.
Glass Mosaic Assemblage
Artist Stephen Donnelly will lead two classes in working with glass fragments and gluing them to glass. These multi-colored chips will be arranged in abstract designs for your own unique piece.  For ages 8 and up.  Limit 6 participants.  Please sign up.

Lego Fun
Join us for a drop-in monthly Lego Club for school-aged kids.  We’ll have plenty of Legos available for creative building.

Ongoing Events

There is an on-going book sale in the Books Down Under Room, on the lower lever of the Library.  It is open whenever the Library is open.

Knit or Knot is a knitting group that meets on Tuesdays, 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.  This is fun casual group of crafters, working at all different levels.  No need to sign up.  Just drop in.
