February Art Exhibit:  Nurturing Growth:  Children’s Art Focused on the Garden, Farm & Sea, created by the Members of Sustainable Cape 4-H.

Friday, February 1st, Noon – 1:00 p.m.
First Friday Brown Bag Book Talk – Share your favorite books and get new reading ideas. 

Saturday, February 2nd, 12:30 – 1:45 p.m.
MUSIC!  Songs of the Sea with Denya LeVine and Julie Wanamaker – Backed by guitar, fiddle, and ukulele, these two well-known local artists with blow you away with their wonderful harmonies and songs that range from sea shanties to folk hits.

Friday, February 8th, 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.
Children’s Art Exhibit Reception – Meet the artists from the Sustainable Cape 4-H, who have created amazing paintings, sculpture, and fabric works. 

6:00 p.m.
Sustainable Film Series - After the reception, stay for the first film of our film series and discussion.  The film is “Saving Seed,” by Joe York.  In partnership with Sustainable CAPE: Center for Agriculture Preservation and Education.

MUSIC!  Katie Hickey and Jim Rohrer perform traditional and contemporary acoustic music that has its roots in Bluegrass, Celtic, Old-Time Country, and Southern Gospel music.

Friends of the Truro Library Monthly Meeting
The speaker is Town Manager, Rex Peterson on the latest issues facing Truro.
Coffee and conversation begin at 9:30 a.m.  The meeting begins at 10:00 a.m.

Saturday, February 23rd, 1:00 p.m. 
Sit, Stretch, and Strengthen with Tricia Duffy –  Come laugh, learn, and MOVE with Tricia Duffy of Everybodies Yoga.  Tricia Duffy has 30 years' experience teaching Yoga and fitness.  She is also a medical massage therapist and has safety as her primary focus.  We'll work with chairs and props to explore how we can open up, unlock, revitalize, and safely learn what our bodies may have forgotten they can do.  Please register.  Stop by or place a call to the Library:  508-487-1125.

Tuesday, February 26th, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. 
Craniosacral Therapy with Jennifer DiMeo – Experience this alternative therapy in a small group setting.  This program is limited to maximize the experience.  Please reserve your place by stopping by or calling the Library, 508-487-1125.

Programs and Events for Kids

**Ongoing Robotics Club**
Fridays, February 1st and 15th, March 1st, 15th, and 29th, from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. for Grades 1 – 4

Junk Drawer Robotics – This 4-H Science Group will experiment in creating Wind Turbines, Slime, Parachute Action Figures, Giant Bubbles, and a Potato 500 Race.  Please call the Library to register, 508-487-1125.

Kids Yoga – Gentle yoga with Genie Morrow from Quiet Mind Studio, ages 2.5 – 5 years old.

4-H Babysitting Course
Sessions include child safety, first aid and emergencies, stages of child development, feeding babies and children, discipline and entertainment, and the business of babysitting.  You must be 11 years old or older to participate.  Class size is limited.  Please sign-up. Those who complete the course will receive 4-H Completion Certificate at a graduation on February 22nd at 3:00 p.m.

Kids' Movie Night Wear your pajamas if you like, watch a movie, and have some popcorn!

Saturday, February 9th, 10:00 a.m. – Noon
Second Saturday Science
Build your child's science skills by exploring a variety of interactive learning stations. Microscopes, magnets, balance scales, gravity, chemistry experimentation, and more will engage and delight you and your child!  This is a drop-in format for 3- to 7-year olds with adult supervision.  No pre-registration required.

Saturday, February 23rd, 10:00 a.m. – Noon
Lego My Library Join us for a drop-in monthly Lego club for school-aged kids.  We’ll have plenty of Legos available for creative building.

Ongoing Events

There is an on-going book sale in the Books Down Under Room, on the lower lever of the Library.  It is open whenever the Library is open.

Truro Tots Playgroup meets every Monday, beginning Oct. 15th from 9:00  – 11:00 a.m.  This free activity is provided for children aged Birth – 3 years and their parents and/or caregivers.  Toys, stories, songs, crafts, and snacks are provided.  This activity is funded by the Town of Truro.
