During Truro Ag Fair, Sunday, September 2nd 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., the Library will host two tables:
For the kids: Make a lamb, a caterpillar, and a ladybug with Maggie, the Children’s Librarian.
For the entire family: Want to learn more about the various crafts and skills you see displayed at the Fair? At the “Ag Fair Branch” of the Truro Library you will be able to browse and check out books on cooking, gardening, raising chickens, canning, etc.
Tuesday, September 4th 6:30 -7:45 p.m., Meet film director Alan Metter. Mr. Metter’s credits include “Police Academy: Mission to Moscow” and “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” among others. He directed Rodney Dangerfield in “Back to School” and Mary Kat and Ashley Olsen in two films, “Billboard Dad” and “Passport to Paris.” Presentation will be held in the Anne H. Brock Community Room.
Wednesday, September 12th 9:30 – 11:00 a.m., Friends of the Truro Library September Meeting. Coffee is served from 9:30 a.m. Program begins at 10:00 a.m. Truro Library Director Tricia Ford and Children’s Librarian Maggie Hanelt will give updates on Library happenings.
Wednesday, September 12th 6:30 – 7:45 p.m., An Evening with Robert Finch, a Nature writer and Cape Cod resident since 1971. Program will be held in the Anne H. Brock Community Room.
During Truro Treasures Weekend, September 14th – 16th
On Friday, 3:00 – 4:00 p.m., Truro Treasures will kick off with a Presentation by Charles Steraimolo, “Edward Hopper’s Truro: A Photographic Journey,” to be held in the Anne H. Brock Community Room.
On Saturday, 9:00 – 1:00 p.m., The Big Paperback Book Sale, held by the Friends of the Truro Public Library
On Saturday, 10:00-1:00 p.m., there will be a Thoreau - back at the Library. Henry David Thoreau (as portrayed by Richard Smith) will be at the library to talk about what Truro was like during his previous visits.
On Sunday, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., The Big Paperback Book Sale continues
On Sunday, 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., Journal-making for Kids at the Truro Central School
Wednesday, September, 19th, 6:30 -7:30 p.m., Poetry reading by Greg Hischak, and other work recently published by Pond Road Press. To be held in the Anne H. Brock Community Room.
Ongoing Events
The Truro Library Book Group meets the last Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome.
The Truro Group will be exhibiting their works during the month of September in both the Anne H. Brock Community Room and on the library lower level. All are invited to the free opening reception on Sunday, September 9th, from 2:00 p.m. 'til 4:00 p.m.
