This year’s Provincetown Dance Festival is once again a co-production of The Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill and the Adam Miller Dance Project. It consists of two full-scale evening performances and post-performance “meet the artists” events. The Festival embraces a full spectrum of dance styles and genres, including Flamenco, Modern, East Indian, Classical Ballet, and Tap. It welcomes back favorite dancers as well as some new dancers to the Cape Cod community. Alums include Boston based choreographers Nicole Pierce of Ego Art Inc., and last year’s sensational Boston Tap Company.

Newcomers include Bessie Award-winning performer and choreographer Sean Curran of Sean Curran Company and Matthew Nash. Jennifer Durning of the New York Times has said that Mr. Curran’s work is “…a stunning marriage of virtuosity and emotion. His dancers move like souls in free fall, furiously moving limbs to express sadness, shame, and ecstasy.” Matthew Nash, former student of the Joffery Ballet School and the American School of Ballet, is a choreographer, composer, and performer who folds in classical structure to his commentary on contemporary society. Partial funding for the Dance Festival was provided by the Provincetown Visitors Services Board and the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod.
