Truro Agricultural Fair Gives Thanks

Banner

The Ag Fair organizers wish to thank the Town of Truro and the hundreds of volunteers who help create the Truro Agricultural Fair. Each person - whether 8 or 88 years of age - plays an integral role. It is a community affair in the best sense of the words with its being put together by year-rounders and summer folk alike: team captains, table volunteers, all-around helpers, incredible bakers, farmers, fishermen, educators, artists, musicians, participants, green businesses, and sponsors. Without the outpouring of support for our local harvest and good, old-fashioned fun with neighbors and friends, the Fair would cease to be. It is an uplifting day that supports local food, happiness, and community.

We also wish to address the parking, which can be a downside to any well-attended event. We have been working closely with the Police Department and the DPW each year in order to best resolve any issues. We are a community-based group existing to benefit the health of our people and of our local food system. We welcome communication and thoughts about improvement. Letting each other know how best we can help each other is key to maintaining positive relationships, and we value all input.

Thank you, again, to everyone who had even the smallest role in participating in the Truro Agricultural Fair. It was a wonderful day where so many gave and, in giving, received.

As the family of one Zucchini 500 winner wrote, "Thanks for a great effort by all the folks who made the day one this family will always treasure!"

P.S. And to see how hard we are working to make vegetables fun, here's a link to our Facebook Page ("Like" us to keep in touch!) Sustainable CAPE
