TernSOLAR Challenge Grant

TRURO CENTER FOR THE ARTS AWARDED TernSOLAR Challenge Grant For the installation of Solar Panels at CASTLE HILL

The Truro Center for the Arts is excited to announce that it has been awarded a TernSOLARChallenge Grant to help fund a solar panel system for the arts center as part of a green challenge campaign.  Through this funding initiative, Tern Foundation works in a partnership-oriented capacity with qualifying nonprofits to help advance energy efficient design and building practices in conjunction with solar panel installation. In addition to advancing the use of solar energy, the Tern Foundation mission is to support programs and organizations that embrace creativity and collaboration as a means to positively impact local communities, primarily in the Boston area and on Cape Cod, MA. Structured as a challenge grant, the goal of the green challenge campaign is to generate matching donations and create community awareness and engagement around the solar panel system or PV Project for Castle Hill. The amount granted for the solar panels is $20,000 and Castle Hill will raise additional matching funds, which will be applied to energy efficient upgrades such as additional insulation, an Energy Star–rated Rinnai propane furnace unit and compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) that can save three-quarters of the electricity currently used.
