eBooks now Available for Kindle and Kindle Fire
The CLAMS Digital Downloads website (powered by Overdrive) now supports Kindle (as well as many other readers and devices.) A link to download directions may be found on the bottom of the homepage on our website (www.trurolibrary.org). Select “Digital Downloads” and look in the left-hand column for Kindle. Downloads to Kindle require the use of your computer and an Amazon.com account. Downloads to the Kindle Fire don’t require the use of a computer.
Reception to Honor Library Director Meg Royka
On Thursday afternoon, March 29, 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., there will be a reception in the Anne H. Brock Community Room of the Library to honor Meg Royka on the occasion of her retirement and to thank her for her many contributions as Library Director. All are welcome.

Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum Bus Trip on Wednesday, April 18

Or stop by the Circulation Desk to register for the Friends’ trip, which includes a guided tour of the new Renzo Piano-designed wing and the newly-restored historic galleries. The motor coach leaves the library at 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18, and returns at 5:15 p.m. Cost is $55.00 per person. Registration and payment deadline is April 2.
Members of the Board of Directors of Lower Cape Ambulance will talk about the ambulance service on Wednesday, March 14. Sponsored by the Friends of the Truro Library, coffee is served at 9:30 a.m. followed by the presentation at 10:00 a.m.

Second Saturday Science Sessions with Lucy Gilmore
Saturday, March 10, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
What is Family Science? You and your child will be invited to choose from a variety of science learning stations to explore at your own pace - all disguised as PLAY! While playing with balls, balloons, air pumps, balance scales, pin wheels, color mixing, magnets, and more, your child will build an understanding of many science concepts. Guaranteed fun to bring out the scientist in everyone!

Celebrate the first day of spring with Wellfleet Audubon. This program is supported by a grant from the Truro Cultural Council, which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
Author Chip Bishop will discuss his recent book, The Lion and the Journalist: The Unlikely Friendship of Theodore Roosevelt and Joseph Bucklin Bishop at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21.
Join Tom O’Carroll when he brings Irish music, stories, and folklore to the library on Saturday, March 31, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m.

Truro Library Book Group meets the last Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome. The title for March 28 is Atlantic: great sea battles, heroic discoveries, titanic storms and a vast ocean of a million stories by Simon Winchester.
Knit or Knot, the weekly needlework group, is now meeting on Tuesdays, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on the library’s lower level. This friendly group welcomes new members!
Truro Tots Playgroup (ages birth to 3 years with parent or caregiver) meets Mondays from 9:00-11:00 a.m. This activity is free of charge to participants and is sponsored by the Town of Truro. For information, please contact Maggie Hanelt (508-487-2693).
