eBooks now Available for Kindle and Kindle Fire
The CLAMS Digital Downloads website (powered by Overdrive) now supports Kindle (as well as many other readers and devices.) Download directions may be found on the bottom of the homepage on our website (www.trurolibrary.org). Select “Digital Downloads” and look in the left-hand column for Kindle. Downloads to Kindle require the use of your computer and an Amazon.com account; downloads to the Kindle Fire don’t require the use of a computer.

Talkin’ Turkey, a presentation by Brewster resident Chet Lay on the reintroduction of wild turkeys to Cape Cod will be given Wed., Feb. 8 in the library’s Anne H. Brock Community Room. Sponsored by the Friends of the Truro Library, coffee is served at 9:30 a.m., followed by the presentation at 10:00 a.m.
Second Saturday Science Sessions with Lucy Gilmore

Drop by and explore several discovery-based science play-stations featuring balls, magnets, magnification, and much, much more. Geared for young toddler and preschool-aged children.

4-H Babysitting Course
Tues., Feb 21 – Fri. Feb. 24 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Graduation & Certification Feb. 24 3:00 p.m.
Sessions include child safety, first aid and emergencies, stages of child development, feeding babies and children, discipline and entertainment, and the business of babysitting.
There is a $10.00 charge for this course, and you must be 11 years old or older to participate. Co-sponsored by the Friends of the Truro Library.

Paper Marbling Workshop
Fridays, Feb. 10 and Feb. 17 from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.
Create your own designs using Japanese freestyle (simple) marbling techniques. We’ll marble paper during the first session and craft with it during the second. Suitable for ages 5 and up. Please sign-up by calling the library (508-487-1125).
Seals: live their life through role plays and games, a program presented by MassAudubon/Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, will be given Tues., Feb. 28 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the library’s Anne H. Brock Community Room. This family program is supported by a grant from the Truro Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

First and Third Saturday of the month at 12:30 p.m.

Truro Library Book Group meets the last Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome. The book group is not meeting in February. The title for March 28 is Atlantic: great sea battles, heroic discoveries, titanic storms and a vast ocean of a million stories by Simon Winchester.
Knit or Knot, the weekly needlework group, is now meeting Tuesdays, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on the library’s lower level. This friendly group welcomes new members!
