The police and fire departments are having an open house during Truro Treasures weekend. We will feature a US Coast Guard helicopter, a K-9 demonstration, BBQ and tours. Please stop by on that Saturday, Sept 17th from 11AM until 2PM. Remember traffic for both events will be very heavy!

Hurricane Irene

Well, Hurricane Irene came and went; and I am glad we were spared flooding and significant damage. Truro officials from all department were ready for the storm, and we thank them for their diligence and assistance. A special "Thank You" to our CERT Team for contacting all of the motel and cottage managers about the storm. Truro really has people willing to help in all capacities!

The Public Safety Facility received significant damage to our electrical systems. We are told that the building received several spikes, meaning we likely got upwards of 300-400 volts through our building. We are working to get the damage assessed and equipment replaced through our insurance carrier.
