The Highland House Museum has closed for the 2011 season, but we're busy preparing an exciting schedule of events for 2012. When we reopen next June, we'll be offering you a new list of entertaining speakers for our Wednesday Evening Speaker Series, fascinating exhibits that will please the eye and capture the imagination, and special events inviting the community to participate
in celebrating the rich and colorful history of Truro. In the next few weeks, we'll be updating our website with all the details of the fabulous events planned for 2012, so stay in touch (trurohistorical.org) and be the first to know what The Truro Historical Society has planned for you.
In the meantime, The Cobb Memorial Archive will continue to be open to the public on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30AM - 12:30PM and by special appointment. The Cobb Archive houses the paper artifacts of Truro's past. It's the perfect place to research your property, geneology, old photographs, or general information on the history of Truro. Or if you have some of Truro's history on paper and would like to donate your antique treasure to our collection, The Truro Historical Society would welcome the opportunity to preserve your contribution for future generations.
The Truro Historical Society is preparing to publish a cookbook of favorite recipes from the best cooks in the world...TRURO COOKS. This cookbook will be a collection of your time-honored recipes, photographs, and tales of Truro. And, if you have your grandmother's favorite recipes, we would love to include those, too. Don't miss this opportunity to be part of Truro's history. We're compiling our collection now; so send your favorite recipes, along with your name, Truro address, phone number, and email address to P.O. Box 486, Truro, MA 02666 or email to director@trurohistorical.org.
