Master gardener Lisa Kavanaugh, owner of "Flowers by Lisa", will give a presentation on Wednesday morning, May 11 on floral arranging. Sponsored by the Friends of the Truro Library, please join us for coffee and light refreshments at 9:30, presentation follows at 10:00 a.m.
The annual Friends Of Truro Library luncheon will be held at noon on June 8 at the library. This event is always a lot of fun and is open to all. Please join us. A dish to share would be appreciated.
Weds, May 11, 6:30 p.m.- Common Threads: Seven Poets and a Wealth of Readers, a program led by Elizabeth Bradfield; readings of seven poems by Massachusetts poets that touch on a variety of themes but express universal experiences and emotions
Weds, May 18, 6:30 p.m. - Author Irene Paine, Eva & Henry - A Cape Cod Marriage, a novel based on the joys and trials of her great grandaunt, Eva Paine Smith, a sea captain's bride.
Wed. June 1, 7:00 p.m. Luke Hinkle, "Our Solar Energy Options." Luke Hinkle is the founder of My Generation Energy, a solar energy installation and development company based in South Dennis. He sees deploying effective solar energy systems as a way to simultaneously tackle challenges which are sometimes in conflict: the economy, energy, and the environment.
Tues. June 7 at 7:00 p.m. artist Kathy Smith will present a program on creating her white line prints.
Book Groups
The Truro Library Book Group meets the last Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The title for May 25 is 13 Bankers: the Wall Street Takeover and the Next Financial Meltdown by Simon Johnson and James Kwak. All are welcome.
The Tuesday Book Group will meet next on June 7 at 1:00 p.m. to review David Grann's The Lost City of Z: a tale of deadly obsession in the Amazon. All are welcome.
