Course Opening

Jim Knowles, Golf Course Manager and Stuart Eyman, Greens Superintendent returned to Highland Links on February 14th to start getting the golf course operational by the end of March. Maintenance equipment has to be serviced and mowing units sharpened to cut the greens by March 26th. The Pro Shop and snack bar has to be cleaned and put in order. The whole operation should be up and running by the last weekend in March.

The tees, greens and fairways came through the winter in great shape with no ice damage nor snow mold. As of February 23rd the course was playable, and any guests can play for an “Honor Fee” of $15.00.

Rates

There will be no rate increase in 2011, and a new Junior Green Fee rate has been put into place. Any junior can play 9 holes at the Links for $20.00 and 18 holes for $40.00 during the summer. The 2011 MGA Handicap service fee is still at $25.00. Establishing an MGA handicap allows you to play in any amateur tournament throughout the country and world.

It will not be that long before we smell the fresh cut grass and drive a long one on #1 at the Links.
