All are cordially invited to attend the annual Friends Of Truro Library luncheon to be held at noon on June 8 at the library. This event is always a lot of fun. Please join us. A dish to share would be appreciated.
The Friends are having a yard sale on Sunday, July 17 at the library. It's a fund raiser to support the many library programs for all ages that the Friends underwrite throughout the year. Items for sale may be dropped off the morning of the sale. Contact Dianne Eib (508-349-2752) for details or if you're available to help.
Don't forget the annual Book and Bake Sale on August 6! The Friends will be sorting books throughout July. If you can help, please contact Dianne Eib (508-349-2752).
The Truro Group will be exhibiting in the library throughout June. Exhibit opening is Sunday, June 5 from 2 till 4, during which jewelry artist Nancy Spillane and glass artists Dona Mahar and Christie Andresen will demonstrate their craft. From 6:30 to 7:30 June 8, Fred Gaechter and Amanda Reed will discuss nature photography and on June 22 from 6:30 to 7:30 Joan Pereira will paint a portrait.
Book Groups
The Truro Library Book Group meets the last Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The title for June 29 is Jenniemae & James: a memoir in black and white by Truro summer resident, Brooke Newman. All are welcome.
The Tuesday Book Group will meet next on June 7 at 1:00 p.m. to review David Grann's The Lost City of Z: a tale of deadly obsession in the Amazon. All are welcome.

Wed. June 1, 7:00 p.m. Luke Hinkle, "Our Solar Energy Options." Hinkle is the founder of My Generation Energy, a solar energy installation and development company based in South Dennis. He sees deploying effective solar energy systems as a way to simultaneously tackle challenges sometimes in conflict: the economy, energy, and the environment.
Tues., June 14, 7:00 p.m. – Steve Wilkes of the Berklee School of Music, “Hear Cape Cod: The Sonic Landscape of the Cape and Islands”
Weds., June 15, 7:00 p.m. - Illustrated presentation by Charles Fields on his newest book, "Vietnam Journeys"
Tues., June 21, 7:00 p.m. - Lisa Sette of the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies, presents an overview of current research on gray seals and their fascinating life history
Tues., June 28, 7:00 p.m. - Illustrated presentation by author Dave Curran, on wilderness canoeing
