The last 7 day production of power shows the actual power being produced for each of the past 7 days. Might be useful to tell when it's time to water the garden. |
Energy Reduction Plan
In FY2010 Truro spent $310,447 on municipal energy costs. It's the town's 3rd largest expense category. That energy cost is further broken down as:
Electricity | $152,553 |
Heating Oil | $57,688 |
Propane | $12,723 |
Vehicle Fuel | $87,769 |
The remaining criteria that must be fulfilled to submit an application to the Green Communities program is for Truro to complete its Energy Reduction Plan. This plan must target savings of 20% over 5 years. Achieving that goal would save over $60,000 per year at last year's energy rates.
The Truro Energy Committee is hard at work with the town management to determine how these savings will be achieved. Energy audits of town buildings are being analyzed to determine which energy conservation measures can be implemented cost-effectively.
The energy reduction plan will be presented for approval to the Board of Selectmen on June 7th. Upon approval, the Green Communities application will then be submitted.
