Castle Hill 2011 Summer Catalog
The Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill, celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2011, has just released our 2011 summer catalog of workshops, events, lectures and other activities of interest. Once again, in 2011 we will offer over 100 workshops, more than any other organization on the Outer Cape. This includes a variety of medium such as painting, drawing, clay, sculpture, printmaking, jewelry making, photography, writing, dance as well as teens and kids classes.
Tuesday Evening Lecture Series
Our always popular Tuesday Evening Lecture Series at the Wellfleet Public Library continues with noted journalists Susan Seligson, Joe Kahn, and Bob Blumenthal, as well as Truro resident and recent Academy Award Nominee Sebastian Junger. All free with a membership to Castle Hill.
Distinguished Artists
The 2011 Woody English Distinguished Artists and Writers Chair is author and journalist Ruth Reichl. Reichl is currently Editor at Large at Random House and the former Editor of Gourmet Magazine. Before that she was restaurant critic for both The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times. Among the events with Ruth are a slow food dinner on Monday, August 15th at the Truro Vineyards of Cape Cod as well as her lecture on August 16th at the Wellfleet Congregational Church.
Postcards from Cape Cod Event
Among our celebrated events for 2011 to highlight is our "Postcards from Cape Cod" event which will take place on Sunday, July 3rd, and it is free of charge for everyone! Come join us for an exciting art sale where local artists, students, and faculty members will paint 4x6 postcards, all for sale for $40, to celebrate our 40th anniversary.
