Selectmen Choose New Chief of Police for the Town Of Truro

InterviewAt the April 14th Selectmen meeting, after more than two hours of discussion and evaluation, the Board unanimously appointed John R. Lundborn as the New Chief of Police for the Town of Truro, pending background check and contract negotiations. The selection of Mr. Lundborn, who has served since March 2010 as acting chief, marked the final stage of a thorough search process that stretched out for more than eight months.

"It was a professional search at every stage," BoS chair Curtis Hartman said. "And in the end, we had two extraordinary candidates, both from inside the Truro Police Department: Acting Chief Lundborn, and Sergeant Kyle Takakjian. Both men were exceptionally dedicated and qualified."

"The Selectmen wish to thank all the citizens who provided input into the selection process, especially those who served on the Search Committee and those who took the time to complete the Police Chief Survey", Hartman added. "Thanks to their efforts the Town can feel confident that our Department will move in to the future with an effective and motivated leadership team."
