photosHousing Rehab

Truro’s long-awaited opportunity to be included in the Wellfleet Regional Housing Rehabilitation Program and receive funding to preserve the homes of LMI (low-moderate income), year-round residents is important news and warrants an urgent call to action to Truro property owners, their local friends and neighbors.

This funding also covers the creation of affordable rental units, from an accessory unit in your home to as many as 7 units in any existing building, for landlords or prospective landlords, and citing such aims is also an important step to take at this time.

Pre-application forms are due no later than November 30th.  This is a requirement of the grant process and key to Truro’s inclusion in the 2011 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application, which will be submitted by the town of Wellfleet on December 10th.

The Community Development Partnership (CDP), the non-profit agency in Eastham that has managed Wellfleet’s program since it began in 2007, is working hard to facilitate the pre-application process within a tight timeframe. Wendy Palliser, CDP housing rehab manager, will guide you to a pre-application form and answer your questions. You may also read program guidelines and obtain the pre-application form on the CDP’s website, www.capecdp.org.

The CDP will provide two public meetings on this program:

On November 12th, the CDP will provide private meetings at the Truro Public Library between 12 NOON and 2 pm.  Please contact Wendy Palliser for scheduling.

Pre-application forms will be available to sign-up at the November 9 meetings as well at the November 12 private meetings.

There is no need to wait until November 9th – get in touch with Wendy Palliser now! Call her at 508 240 7873 ext 14, or email Wendy@capecdp.org.
