The Seamen's Bank plans Walking Home to Benefit HOW Provincetown, MA

Walking Home logoJohn Roderick, President of Seamen's Bank, recently announced that Seamen's Bank is organizing a fundraising walk to benefit Helping Our Women (HOW). HOW is a community-based, non-profit organization serving Eastham to Provincetown. Diagnoses of clients include cancer, multiple sclerosis, AIDS, heart disease, mental illness and other serious conditions. Over 40% of those being served are elderly. HOW's mission is to educate, empower and support women as they cope with chronic disease and life threatening illnesses. HOW also has an open door policy to provide referrals and advocacy to all community members.

Walking Home will take place on Saturday, May 11. Walkers and sponsors may sign up on the HOW website, helpingourwomen.org, or at any branch of Seamen's Bank. Everyone raising or donating $100 or more will receive a free Walking Home t-shirt.

According to Irene Rabinowitz, Executive Director of HOW, Seamen's Bank fully understands the financial needs of small non-profits like us. The Bank is always generous in their monetary support, and it's heartwarming to see all the effort they're putting into raising even more funds to serve our clients. Seamen's is a true community bank."
